The indicator refers to the carbon stock, i.e. the amount of carbon stored in Italy in the various forest reservoirs, and to the carbon stock change (carbon sink), which takes into account the carbon absorbed and the amount released (emissions) as a result of fires, removals and natural mortality in national forest ecosystems.
