Directorate V “Regulation and supervision of the financial sector”, which comprises 9 Units, with around 130 employees. Topics and tasks of the Directorate include:
- banking, capital markets, and insurance regulation and supervision, at domestic, European and global level;
- crisis management;
- fintech;
- sustainable finance;
- payment systems and tools, including “stablecoins” and CBDC;
- financial education;
- implementation of UN or EU financial restrictive measures;
- AML/CFT;
- cyber-resilience;
- financial crimes.
