The Italian Ministry of Economy and Finance today issued a new coin, minted by the Istituto Poligrafico e Zecca dello Stato, to celebrate Italy's seventh time taking up the Presidency of the G7, which started on 1 January 2024 and will last until 31 December 2024. The silver coin, with a face value of 3 euro and available in a Mint version with a mintage of 4,000 pieces, is the work of State Mint engraver Emanuele Ferretti.
The coin depicts the logo of the Italian G7 Presidency, whose main element is the centuries-old olive tree, an identifying symbol of the Mediterranean landscape and, in particular, of the Apulian territory that will host the Summit of Leaders of the participating Countries.
