4-6 November 2024, Auditorium Parco della Musica Ennio Morricone, Rome
The Forum, entitled Strengthening Well-being Approaches for a Changing World, is carried out by the Department of the Treasury in collaboration with Istat. It is part of the activities of the Italian Presidency of the G7, with the aim of promoting policies for equitable and sustainable well-being at the international level, developed on the basis of statistical data and empirical analyses.
The event is attended by representatives from G7 economic and financial organisations, policymakers, academics, statisticians, and experts from civil society and the private sector, hailing from all over the world. Several round tables are planned to address issues of global relevance, including the statistical measurement of well-being indicators, climate change, technological innovation, and the use of artificial intelligence. Other topics on the agenda are demographic challenges, gender equality, economic and social inequalities, poverty, and physical and mental health.
The event includes a wide range of activities, including parallel sessions, technical workshops and interactive discussions. These moments offer participants the opportunity to exchange ideas and best practices on how to jointly advance the global agenda of equitable and sustainable well-being, with a focus on empirical analysis and statistical data.
Participation in the Forum is free. You must apply through the dedicated section of the site: https://www.oecd-wellbeing-forum2024.mef.gov.it/it/how-to-participate.
Since 2017, Italy has been the first member country of the European Union and the G7 to include twelve indicators of Fair and Sustainable Well-being (BES) in its Economic and Financial Planning Documents. This approach allows the level of well-being of the Italian population to be closely monitored and the impact of economic policies on BES indicators to be assessed. The data provided by Istat play a fundamental role in monitoring the achievement of the goals set by the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
The 7th edition of the OECD Forum on Well-being represents a crucial moment to discuss the future of well-being policies on a global scale, providing a space for dialogue and cooperation between different international actors, with the aim of improving socio-economic and environmental conditions worldwide.
