The organisational chart of the Department of theTreasury is defined by the Dpcm (Decree of the President of the Council of Ministers) no. 125 of 26 July 2023. The competences and organisation of the individual structures are laid down in the DM (Ministerial Decree) of 7 August 2024.

Office I
General affairs and secretariat. Support for management functions and pre-legislative activity in matters falling within the Directorate's remit. Definition of the Directorate's needs, in synergy with the Department's offices in charge of cross-departmental functions. Supporting the financial management of staff assigned to the Directorate. Relations with international organisations for legal, administrative and accounting matters within the Directorate's area of responsibility. Monitoring and promoting Italy's applications to international organisations. Coordination of cross-departmental analysis projects on the governance of international organisations. Relations with state administrations, Italian, foreign and international bodies and organisations in the areas of competence.
Office II
Preparation of the work of informal governmental groups, including the G7 and G20, and related activities, including participation in meetings. Coordination of the Directorate's activities in relation to global economic issues, the international monetary and financial system, stability and international financial cooperation. Relations with state administrations, Italian, foreign and international bodies and organisations in the areas of competence.
Office III
Institutional relations with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and management of the regulatory and financial obligations arising from membership of the institution. Coordination of Italy's position vis-à-vis IMF policies and activities. Preparation and participation in the work of the relevant government bodies. Participation in the European coordination process on IMF issues. Participation in formal and informal international processes related to the functioning and evolution of the international financial architecture.
Office IV
Institutional relations with the OECD and preparation of the relevant meeting of Economic Ministers. Coordination of participation in working groups with reference to the international financial economic area related to WP3, the EDRC and the Financial Markets Committee. Economic and financial analyses of the global economy, with particular reference to the international economy. Activities and analyses aimed at developing bilateral relations with major non-European countries. Relations with state administrations, Italian, foreign and international bodies and organisations in the areas of competence.
Office V
Policies and initiatives for development cooperation within the framework of national governance as provided for by Law No. 125 of 2014. Monitoring and gathering of data on cooperation activities within the OECD-DAC framework. Participation in OECD-DAC meetings on matters of competence. Examination of external debt issues of developing and emerging countries, including participation in the work of the Paris Club and the drafting and implementation of international agreements on this issue. Relations with state administrations, Italian, foreign and international bodies and organisations in the areas of competence.
Office VI
Institutional relationships with banks, multilateral and regional funds of which the MEF is a shareholder or contributor, including the World Bank Group, the African Development Bank (AfDB), the Asian Development Bank (AsDB), the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), and the Inter-American Development Bank (IaDB) and the Caribbean Development Bank (CDB), and their Development Funds, as well as the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD). Policies and activities of multilateral banks and funds, international organisations. Relations with state administrations, Italian, foreign and international bodies and organisations in the areas of competence.
Office VII
Economic and financial analysis on global public goods issues in support of the Directorate's activities, in particular climate and health. Italy's representation in the decision-making bodies of international vertical funds (Green Climate Fund, Global Environment Facility, Gavi), and participation in refinancing negotiations and related activities. Relations with state administrations, Italian and foreign bodies and international organisations, including participation in coordination meetings on areas of competence.
Office VIII
Institutional relations with the European Investment Bank (EIB) and the Council of Europe Development Bank (CEB). EIB and CEB policies and activities, preparation for and participation in the work of the relevant governing bodies. Directorate's activities in relation to the Mediterranean and Balkan countries. Relations with state administrations, Italian, foreign and international bodies and organisations in the areas of competence.
